On Friday, the Siya crew reported that Egyptian giants Zamalek could revisit their interest in Al Wahda head coach Pitso Mosimane following news that his contract with the UAE club is set to be terminated.
Mosimane revealed that Zamalek had made an official approach for his services last season, but the coach revealed that the timing of the move was not right at the time.
As reported by the Siya crew, Mosimane and his technical team are understood to be on their way out of Al Wahda following a slow start to the season. While the reasons behind the move remain unknown, information made available to the Siya crew is that Juan Carlos Osorio remains the man in charge of the Egyptian outfit, but Mosimane’s reported availability has piqued the club’s interest once again.
Mosimane joined Al Wahda as head coach in June this year, following a successful stint in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli Jeddah. PSLSA has also linked Mosimane to the permanent head coach position at Kaizer Chiefs, but it remains to be seen how the South African club would compete with interest from North Africa.
It is worth noting that Zamalek are the direct rivals of Mosimane’s former side Al Ahly. With his contract at Al Wahda set to be terminated, it remains to be seen where the experienced South African coach will head to next.
