Sundowns Win Both Q1 And Q2 In DStv Premiership, Lead By 16 Points

Mamelodi Sundowns have been crowned Q1 and Q2 champions of the DStv Premiership after securing the top spot in both quarters. The Tshwane giants have been dominating local football and have been the subject of much attention from coaches and former players, who have publicly suggested that Sundowns’ financial clout is the reason they are doing so well.

In the first quarter, which had eight matches, Sundowns had 16 points, with Orlando Pirates just behind them in second place on 14. In the second quarter, which had seven matches, Sundowns were top of the standings with 21 points, five ahead of their Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.

Sundowns have already won two matches in the third quarter and are determined to win it yet again, as they edge closer to a sixth consecutive Premiership title. With a 16-point lead at the summit of the standings, the Rulani Mokwena-led side will be in action tonight when they take on TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium.
