Impact of Chiefs Coach Search on Transfer Plans

Kaizer Chiefs have decided to put their January transfer window plans on hold until they appoint a new coach, according to reports. The Soweto giants are currently in the process of head hunting a suitable candidate to take over the hot seat, with the hope of having them in place before the end of the year.

This will give the new coach enough time to assess the squad and decide which players to bring in during the Africa Cup of Nations break in January. Chiefs had already started planning for the window while Molefi Ntseki was in charge, but they are now waiting to finalise their plans.

The club are still in the market for a new striker to help solve their scoring problems and ease some of the pressure on the team’s top scorer, Ashley du Preez. Khanyisa Mayo had been identified as a possible target, but a deal did not materialise, while Iqraam Rayners of Stellenbosch FC is understood to still be an option for the Naturena outfit.
