Mamelodi Sundowns will face Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, in what is a repeat of last season’s semi-final. In the previous encounter, Pirates beat the Brazilians 3-0 in the second leg, eventually going on to lift the trophy by beating AmaZulu FC 1-0 in the final.
Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau has refused to label this a ‘revenge’ game when addressing the media about their approach. “No, it’s not about revenge. We don’t think about that. Obviously we played against them in the semi-finals last year and that’s in the past. We are focusing on the game on Saturday,” said Mudau.
“We will go there with the aim of wanting to win. Obviously we know it won’t be easy but the guys are prepared for this game and we are looking forward to a good game.”
“We know it won’t be easy because we are playing against a good team but we have been preparing very well for this finals and we want to lift the trophy but obviously it’s not about revenge. It’s about us winning on the day and lifting the trophy,” the former Black Leopards defender concluded.
