On Friday, Orlando Pirates are understood to have signed 33-year-old Makhehleni Makhaula on a pre-contract from AmaZulu. This move has sparked questions about the midfielders age, but Pirates are no strangers to roping in experienced players.
According to SABC Sport, the Usuthu captain, who turns 34 in November, will be making his way to Parktown at the end of the campaign, after three years in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
This season, the Buccaneers welcomed back Ndumiso Mabena, at 35 the former Royal AM captain is the oldest ever player signed by the club. It is the veteran forward’s second stint in Black and White.
