Kaizer Chiefs will have the opportunity to move up to second in the DStv Premiership when they host Cape Town City on Tuesday evening at the FNB Stadium. Chiefs ended their four-game winless run in all competitions with a 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune United last week, with goals from Edson Castillo and Edmilson Dove. Amakhosi currently sit in sixth place on the table with 11 points, and a win would see them jump to second place.
Cape Town City also ended their five-game winless streak in the league, with four of those matches ending in losses, after their 3-1 win over Cape Town Spurs on Saturday. The win took the Citizens up to ninth on the table with ten points, and a win against Chiefs would move them up to fourth on the log.
City have had the upper hand in recent meetings with Chiefs, having won the last three league matches and remaining unbeaten in five league games. The last time Chiefs beat City in the league was in January 2021, although Amakhosi did beat the Citizens this season in the MTN8 quarter-finals with a 2-1 scoreline.
The match kicks off at 19h30. Here are the lineups for both teams:
