The South African national team, Bafana Bafana, have announced their squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Ivory Coast and Eswatini. On Thursday, head coach Hugo Broos revealed the 23 players that will represent the nation in the matches on 13 and 17 October.
The squad includes a mix of experienced international players, as well as some new faces. Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns), Veli Mothwa (AmaZulu), and Ricardo Goss (SuperSport United) have been selected as the goalkeepers, while the defence will be made up of Sydney Mobbie (Sekhukhune United), Paseka Mako, Nkosinathi Sibisi (Orlando Pirates), Siyanda Xulu (SuperSport United), Aubrey Mothiba, Grant Kekana, and Mothobi Mvala (all Mamelodi Sundowns).
Midfielders Njabulo Blom (ST Louis City), Teboho Mokoena (Mamelodi Sundowns), Grant Margeman (SuperSport United), Sibongiseni Mthethwa (Kaizer Chiefs), and Siphephelo Sithole (CT Tondela) have also been included, as well as strikers Monnapule Saleng (Orlando Pirates), Zakhele Lepasa (Orlando Pirates), Lebo Mothiba (RC Strasbourg), Mihlali Mayambela (Aris Limassol), Percy Tau (Al Ahly), Themba Zwane (Mamelodi Sundowns), Lyle Foster (Burnley), and Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Minnesota).
The squad will begin preparations for the upcoming matches on Saturday, 25 November. Bafana Bafana will be hoping to build on their recent performances and secure victories against their opponents in these friendlies.
