Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to continue their perfect start in the CAF Champions League group stages when they take on Al Ahly in Egypt on Saturday evening.
The Brazilians have won all their matches since Rulani Mokwena assumed the role as head coach, and currently sit at the top of Group B with six points.
Al Ahly, on the other hand, have only played one game in the group after their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, and will be searching for their first points on the board.
The Egyptian giants have been doing well in the Egyptian Premier League, as they top the table by two points, with three games in hand and are yet to lose in the current season.
The two sides met in last season’s group stage phase, with the Brazilians picking up a win in Cairo and on home soil. This Saturday’s match is set to be a thrilling encounter between two of Africa’s powerhouses, and both teams will be looking to gain the upper hand in the group.
Al Ahly will line up with El Shenway, Maaloul, Metwally, Abdelmonem, Hany, Marwan, Dieng, Afsha, Abdelkader, El Shahat, and Tau, while Mamelodi Sundowns will be fielding Williams, Kekana, Mvala, Mudau, Modiba, Mokoena, Allende, Mkhulise, Zwane, Mailula, and Shalulile. Kick-off is at 21h00 at the Al Salam Stadium.
