Kaizer Chiefs have been on a rollercoaster ride this season, with the team’s performance fluctuating from week to week. However, coach Arthur Zwane has remained adamant that the club has a plan for the season and that it is still in motion.
Speaking to journalists after their 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates, Zwane said: “Obviously, I’m not going to tell everyone the Kaizer Chiefs plan going forward. It is our secret as a club going forward but we do have a plan. And if you have a plan for something, you can’t allow a lot of things to happen and that will unsettle us. As a club, we have a plan and as time goes on, everyone will see that plan and many other teams started with a plan and it’s visible for everyone to see. Very soon, if not later. You’ll be able to see which direction we’re taking as a club.”
One of the main objectives of the plan is to get Kaizer Chiefs back into the CAF Champions League, a competition the club nearly won in 2021
“We plan to win every game even though the results have been fluctuating. We would love to be up there. I’ve tasted the sweetness of being in the Champions League and that’s the time out players can grow as well and participating in such a demanding competition is good for us, the club and the supporters. The history of the club, we have to compete at that level, year in [and] year out.”
Zwane has been consistent in his belief that the plan for the club is in full motion and that the results of the team will soon be visible to everyone. Kaizer Chiefs’ fans will be hoping this is the case as the club looks to return to the CAF Champions League and continue to build on their success.
