The Tshwane giants made the announcement via their official Twitter account on Friday, 25 August, confirming the arrival of the experienced forward.
Speaking on his move to SuperSport, Niang said, “I am very excited to join SuperSport United. Mame Niang told me that coach Gavin Hunt is like a father to all of his players and he’s pushed me to work hard during all of our training sessions. I’m looking forward to be meeting all the Matsatsantsa supporters.”
The signing of Niang is part of the club’s plans to keep the momentum going in their impressive season under Hunt, who has guided the club to the top of the DStv Premiership standings.
The Senegalese international brings a wealth of experience to the club, having played in France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and his native Senegal.
SuperSport United will be hoping that the arrival of Niang will help the club to secure their first league title in over a decade.
