After a two year absence, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana have been drawn in
Group E of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire. The team
finished top of Group K ahead of Morocco and Liberia, qualifying them for
the tournament for the first time since 2019.
Under the guidance of head coach Hugo Broos, Bafana Bafana will face
Tunisia, Mali and Namibia, who are led by South African forward Peter
Shalulile. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in
June-July 2023, but was moved due to the rainy season in the country and
will now run from 13 January to 11 February.
Group E is sure to be a competitive one, with Tunisia, Mali and Namibia
all boasting strong squads. South Africa will be looking to make an impact
and progress to the knockout stages of the tournament.
