Official PSL Signings as Window Closure Approaches

As the January transfer window draws to a close, Soccer Laduma takes a look at all the confirmed signings in the DStv Premiership. Although clubs have not been overly active in this window, some have made one or two additions to bolster their squads.

Reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns have yet to confirm any new signings, but their ‘Big Three’ rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have both added to their attack with foreign strikers. The Buccaneers signed Cameroonian forward Souaibou Marou, while Chiefs brought in Congolese forward Christian Saile Basomboli, who registered an assist on debut in a 2-0 victory over Royal AM over the weekend.

Sekhukhune United made one of the big signings of the window, bringing in Kamohelo Mokotjo after Amakhosi turned down the opportunity to sign the former Brentford midfielder. Cape Town City brought in former Chiefs striker Lorenzo Gordinho, as well as Colombian forward Juan Camilo Zapata, while Western Cape rivals Stellenbosh FC signed Andre de Jong from Royal AM.

Royal AM, meanwhile, secured former Pirates right back Mthokozisi Dube, who had been without a club since the end of last season. Royal AM’s KZN rivals Maritzburg United signed Kwame Peprah, Wayde Jooste, Mogamad De Goede, Jose Ali Meza and Bradley Cross, who was assessed by SuperSport and Chiefs a few months ago. AmaZulu secured Jody February on loan from Sundowns.

Bottom of the table Marumo Gallants signed former Maritzburg and Stellenbosch FC striker Judas Moseamedi. After serving a FIFA transfer ban, Swallows FC were able to register Evans Rusike. TS Galaxy have not confirmed any signings, but the Siya crew has been informed that they are assessing Leletu Skelem, the former Maritzburg and Stellenbosch player.
