On Thursday, Orlando Pirates confirmed that Bongani Sam will be loaned out to Swallows FC for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
The 25-year-old left back joined Pirates from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2019, and was sent out on loan to Maritzburg United for the first half of the current season.
During his time with the Team of Choice, Sam made nine appearances but had been excluded from the last seven games.
The move to Swallows marks the second loan spell for Sam, and he joins other Pirates players such as Tshegofatso Mabasa, Nkanyiso Zungu, Zakhele Lepasa and Boitumelo Radiopane, who are all out on loan at various clubs this season.
The loan move is seen as a way for Sam to gain much-needed game-time and further his development as a player.
