On Thursday, the Siya crew was informed that Thamsanqa Gabuza will not be leaving SuperSport United, while Iqraam Rayners has found a new home.
Gabuza had been linked with a move away from the Tshwane outfit, with Royal AM and Stellenbosch FC having enquired about his services in recent weeks. However, it was confirmed that the 35-year-old will remain with SuperSport until the end of the season.
“Gabuza, no. Rayners to Stellies,” SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews confirmed to the Siya crew on Tuesday, a few hours before the close of the transfer window.
Gabuza has been an important figure for SuperSport since he joined them from Orlando Pirates. The striker has scored two goals in 17 appearances this season for SuperSport, with no assists.
SuperSport, meanwhile, have secured Zakhele Lepasa on loan until the end of the season from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
