The historic Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is
set to take place on Saturday 25th February at the FNB Stadium. The
Buccaneers come into the fixture with a better form, having won four of
their last five league games, their only blemish being a narrow 1-0 loss
to Mamelodi Sundowns. Pirates are currently lying third on the log, five
points behind second-placed SuperSport United and three points clear of
fifth-placed Chiefs.
The Glamour Boys, on the other hand, have endured a difficult run of form,
suffering four defeats in their last six matches, the last of which was a
3-2 loss against Golden Arrows this past Sunday. However, Amakhosi have
won the last four league clashes between the sides and will be looking to
make history by winning their fifth consecutive game against Pirates for
the first time in the fixture’s history.
