Kaizer Chiefs supporters in Polokwane were rewarded for their unwavering support on Friday night, as Amakhosi beat Royal AM 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Chiefs have entered into a three-year partnership with the Polokwane Municipality to play some of the side’s home matches at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Head coach Arthur Zwane was full of praise for the supporters, saying that their presence in the stands played a big role in ending Chiefs’ three-game losing run.
“Look, we always know that Polokwane is our home away from home, you know. When you come here we know very well that there’ll be a lot of numbers in terms of the support,” Zwane said in a press conference.
“We have no doubt about it and this time around we had to make sure that we put a smile on our supporters’ faces. We didn’t want them to go back home being disappointed because of the draw or we dropped points.
Zwane went on to suggest that a big crowd at home gives Chiefs an advantage, as the opposition end up bowing to pressure and make mistakes.

“Because we’re bringing Swallows here, Arrows, so we want them to come and be our 12th man on the field, make life difficult for the opposition and as soon as they hear the noise, then they will start panicking and making mistakes,” he continued.
The head coach thanked the supporters for their efforts in helping Chiefs get back to winning ways, and urged them to keep up the good work.
“And they’ve done that (against Royal AM), congrats to them and we appreciate their support,” he added.
Chiefs will now turn their attention to their next DStv Premiership outing, as they visit TS Galaxy in Mpumalanga on Sunday afternoon at Mbombela Stadium.
