Orlando Pirates are looking to maintain their resurgent form as they face off against Mamelodi Sundowns this afternoon. The Buccaneers are oozing with confidence, having won their last three fixtures and are aiming to make it four in a row.
Pirates’ assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has warned that they will be all out to win the match and believes that the team can reach the place they belong. He said, “It’s going to be a good match between two good teams. Preparations have gone well, we have planned (and) we have prepared to win the match. We are focusing more on ourselves. We’ve won three matches in a row (and) we want to make it four in a row (and) build from that. Then we rise and go into the right place where I think our team belongs.”
Ncikazi also believes that the match will be very tactical, with both teams trying to outdo the other. He added, “It’s going to be a very tactical match, overloads versus width and we’ll see who provides the better… who exert themselves better. Everybody knows the opponents how they play, and I think they know how we prepare and if we execute our plan, I’m positive and I’m believing that we will come out with a very positive result.”
Pirates will be looking to avenge their 2-0 defeat against Sundowns in the first round fixture in December. Will the Buccaneers be able to make it four wins in a row? We will find out this afternoon.
