Royal AM got back to winning ways in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon, as they defeated Golden Arrows 2-1 in the KwaZulu-Natal derby at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
Abafana Besthende had the chance to make a lively start, with Knox Mutizwa going closest to scoring in the opening stages, but his effort was kept out by Royal AM goalkeeper Hugo Nyame.

The hosts celebrated Mutizwa for becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer before the game.
The opening goal would arrive on the hour mark, as Thabo Matlaba opened his scoring account for the campaign to put Royal AM ahead with 30 minutes to go.
However, Arrows weren’t behind for too long as Mutizwa brought his side level in the 67th minute with his third league goal of the season.
Both sides pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but it was Royal AM who got the decisive goal with six minutes to play as substitute Sedwyn George fired past Nkosingiphile Gumede to get his side back on the winning trail.
