Mokwena praised the presence of goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, who is comfortable playing out from the back, saying that it gave Pirates “very good build-up possibilities” and “made a big difference” in the game. He also praised his own goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, who kept a clean-sheet, and said that they had to be “respectful” to the Buccaneers for them to extend their winning run.
“So if you look at the two goalkeepers, I thought they were magnificent and it augurs well for South African football to be honest with you but we dug deep, we put in a shift and we were very respectful and extremely humble,” Mokwena said.
The former Pirates coach also praised his players for their “magnificent shift” and “tactically being so good”, saying that they changed formations a lot during the game.
