Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena was delighted with his side’s performance in their 3-2 win over Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup on Friday.
The Brazilians were dominant throughout the match, with a brace from Peter Shalulile and a solitary goal from Mosa Lebusa guiding them to victory.
Mokwena praised the performances of a number of players, including Sipho Mbule, Lesedi Kapinga, Bradley Ralani, Thabiso Kutumela, Mosa Lebusa, Rushine de Reuck, Mothobi Mvala, and Riyaad Coetzee.
“That has been our story, the entire season we create a lot of chances and today I thought we played very well,” Mokwena said.
Despite the win, Mokwena was disappointed with the number of chances his side missed, which he feels has been a recurring theme throughout their campaign. “The score suggests that it was a little bit closer but very good dominance today,” he added.
Mokwena congratulated his team for progressing to the next round of the Nedbank Cup and thanked the Sundowns faithful for their continued support.
