On Saturday, Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro expressed his confidence that his team will not drop too many points going into the business end of the season.
The Buccaneers had been on a three-game winning run before they narrowly lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, who extended their record-breaking run of victories to 15 matches.
Riveiro believes that, based on the performance they put in against the Brazilians, they will not lose too many points in the remaining games of the campaign.
“I cannot think so much about the objectives, it was a very intense game, the only thing I can tell is that playing in the level we did, considering the level of our opponent, 14 (15) games in a row that these guys win here in a difficult environment,” said Riveiro in a press conference.
“If I’m not mistaken we had 60 percent of possession. I don’t know when was the last time that Sundowns lost possession against one team in the PSL, probably it’s not so frequent,” he added.
