Chiefs’ Forgotten Development Product on the Road to a Comeback

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Emmanuel Letlotlo is looking to get his career back on track after a long absence from professional football. The 27-year-old has joined Platinum City Rovers in the second tier of South African football as he looks to revive his career.

Letlotlo came through the youth ranks at Chiefs and had been earmarked for bigger things in the local football scene. He excelled as the reserve team player while playing in the MultiChoice (now DStv) Diski Challenge team, having finished the 2015/16 season as the top goalscorer with nine goals from 15 matches.

He was subsequently promoted to the first team at Amakhosi in 2016, but failed to live up to the expectations. In the last few seasons, Letlotlo has struggled to get a club in the Premiership or Motsepe Foundation.

According to a source, Letlotlo has started training with Platinum City Rovers this week and the move looks promising. The former Chiefs striker is hoping to impress and get a contract in order to get his career back on track.
