Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler has challenged his team to bounce back and put in a good performance against Orlando Pirates on Saturday. The Citizens suffered a 1-0 loss at home to SuperSport United on Tuesday evening and Tinkler was evidently not pleased with his team’s performance. City are 11th on the DStv Premiership log, having won only four from the 14 matches they have played so far this season.
Speaking to journalists, Tinkler said: “They are professional sportsmen, you know. You’re going to have good days and you’re going to have bad days but the most important thing is how you bounce back and what better opportunity than against Orlando Pirates.”
Pirates have had their own challenges in their league campaign due to inconsistent results, having lost their previous match 2-0 against log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Tinkler is hoping that his team will be able to turn their fortunes around and put in a good performance against the Buccaneers. With the pressure mounting for the Cape Town City head coach, this could be a crucial match for the Citizens.
