On Sunday, 12 February, TS Galaxy will begin their Nedbank Cup journey against ABC Motsepe League side Amavarara at the Bidvest Stadium. The Rockets are flirting with relegation in the Premiership and will be hoping to replicate their success of 2019 when they won the tournament while in the second tier.
Amavarara, on the other hand, are making their return to the tournament after last featuring in 2020 and will be looking to go one better than their last 16 exit. Amavarara currently sit top of the Eastern Cape standings in Stream A, with a six-point cushion after 12 rounds of matches.
TS Galaxy, meanwhile, are coming off a goalless draw against Kaizer Chiefs which left them lying tenth, two points above the relegation zone.
Both teams have named their line-ups for the clash, with TS Galaxy starting with Van der Linde, Mere, Msimango, Sanoka, M.Mahlangu, Mlambo, Phohlongo, Hlongwane, Sebelebele, Medina Rodriguez, and S.Mahlangu. Amavarara, on the other hand, will line up with Mpontshane, Ntoyanto, Zondi, Mgaga, Spandiel, Mpontshane, Wana, Mgwaba, Mzimela, Klaas, and Mhlontlo.
The game is set to kick off at 15h00 and will be a great opportunity for either side to get their Nedbank Cup journey off to a great start.
