Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the addition of Michael Loftman to their technical team as a Set Play Coach. The announcement was made in a statement issued by the defending DStv Premiership champions, with the aim of boosting the Chloorkop outfit’s plans to be a force in South Africa and on the continent.
Loftman is a UEFA A license holder from the English FA and holds a Sports Science & Coaching Masters Degree from Brunel University. He will work on the pitch and compile analytic data to provide information to improve an important part of the game.
Mamelodi Sundowns’ Sporting Director, Flemming Berg, welcomed Loftman to the team, saying, “We are very happy to have Michael and add his competencies to the experienced and highly qualified technical team.”
Loftman will travel with the team to Cameroon for their second ground B Match against Coton Sport Garoua. The arrival of Loftman is expected to bolster the technical team, which already includes coach Rulani Mokwena, Steve Komphela, and Manqoba Mngqithi.
