Sibusiso Vilakazi, the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, looks set for an immediate return to topflight football after joining Sekhukhune United, a DStv Premiership club, for training. The 33-year-old attacker had been linked with a move away from his previous club, TS Galaxy, for the past three weeks.
According to close sources, Babina Noko are seriously considering offering Vilakazi a contract, depending on the negotiations that are expected to resume in the coming days. The source said: “He (Vilakazi) has started training with the team (Sekhukhune) and it’s not a trial per se, as everyone knows what the player of his calibre can do. It is just to get him to familiarize himself with the guys. So, yeah, he is with the team and there is an interest from the club to sign him.”
Vilakazi’s potential move to Sekhukhune United is a welcome development for the club, which is looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
