On Monday, Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane provided an update on the availability of Edmilson Dove for the upcoming Soweto Derby. Dove had missed Chiefs’ 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows in Polokwane last Sunday due to illness and had been training away from the team.

Speaking to the media, Zwane said, “Unfortunately, we lost Dove. He got sick. We had to reshuffle and that has been the story of our season. We are just waiting to see who will be available. Whether Dove is going to be available or not, we will check with the medical team and take it from there.”
When asked to be more specific on Dove’s condition, Zwane revealed, “He has been training, but not with the team. Remember he was sick, so he has been in the gym since last week, just to try to make sure he would be ready for the game mentally and physically. So, he has not been part of the team yet.”
Chiefs will be hoping to improve their defending against Pirates, after they were punished for some poor defending against Arrows. Pirates have gained loads of confidence in the final third of the pitch, so Chiefs will have to be at their best to come out with a positive result.
