Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Arthur Zwane has praised the maturity and composure of Mduduzi Shabalala, who has been gradually introduced to the Amakhosi first team this season.
The 18-year-old has been in fine form for the Glamour Boys and looks set to feature in his first ever Soweto Derby this Saturday. Speaking to journalists at the Wanderers Country Club, Zwane said the team is doing its utmost to keep the youngster grounded and level-headed.
“Mdu is one of the players who has been doing very well for the club and we try by all means to keep him level-headed,” said Zwane. “People have been talking about giving credit to him, but he might receive it in a different way.”
He added, “So, we are trying to guide him and so far, so good. He has responded positively, and he is a very good young man, he listens, he’s focused, and he knows what he wants, which is a good thing. So, we’ll try by all means to make sure that we keep him grounded.”
Shabalala has been a standout performer for Kaizer Chiefs this season, and his first Soweto Derby will be an important milestone in his burgeoning career.
