Caleb Bonfils Bimenyimana has been a key figure in Kaizer Chiefs’ attack since joining the club in October 2020.
The Burundian international has powered to seven goals in his first seven appearances for Amakhosi, however, he has gone six games without a goal. Bimenyimana has revealed that the lack of consistency in the Chiefs starting XI has contributed to a lack of chemistry amongst the players, meaning that he had to adjust to playing with new players.
“If you see that in many games, we change the squad so it’s difficult to know each other and how to pass and how to combine,” he said. “But, I can say that, yes [I receive the supply] from the players that I’ve played with have been doing well, unfortunately we’ve been unlucky, and I don’t know how to explain that,” he continued.
The attacker has also been hampered by a string of niggling injuries, which have kept him sidelined for a few games. Bimenyimana is now back in the squad and is looking to get back to his goalscoring form. He will be hoping to make an impact in the upcoming Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.
