Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has expressed his concern over his side’s failure to convert the chances they create, following their 2-0 win over Richards Bay in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday.
The game saw the visitors play with a man less for almost 70 minutes after Salim Magoola was sent off in the 18th minute. Despite this, Chiefs were unable to capitalize on their numerical advantage, with Zwane disappointed that his side took their foot off the pedal after Magoola’s red card.

“We started very well, we scored a goal and immediately after scoring a goal we slowed down the tempo,” Zwane said. “From the touchline we were trying to send the message across that let’s put them under more pressure and let’s get the second goal.”
At halftime, Zwane reminded his players of the opportunity they had to score three, four, or even five goals. However, they were unable to capitalize on this opportunity, with Zwane worried that his side were giving their opponents too much time and space on the ball.
“We needed to kill the game off,” he said. “We kept pushing the boys from the bench that get the killer goal, then we’ll get the third one, ja we didn’t get it but we did create chances.”
Zwane concluded by saying that it was a worrying factor that his side were unable to take the chances they created.
