Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has discussed the club’s plans to fill the void left by Njabulo Blom, who recently departed for America’s Major League Soccer outfit St. Louis City. At the club’s Open Media Day, Zwane said that they were happy for Blom to spread his wings and wished him well.
Kaizer Chiefs has no ambition at all. They say they are rebuilding but at the same time has sold Njabulo Blom, one of their important piece of the puzzle. They want to build on the cheap. This club is not going anywhere as pride is clouding their judgement.

The Glamour Boys played their first game without ‘Stoppa’ in their 2-0 win over Golden Arrows on New Year’s Eve, opting to play recently promoted midfielder Samkelo Zwane in the position vacated by Blom. Zwane cautioned that there was still competition for places for defensive midfield positions, mentioning names such as Nange and Cole Alexander. He also expressed happiness for the young Zwane, saying that they will make sure to keep him grounded and focused.
The Amakhosi legend also did not rule out the possibility of beefing up the squad in the transfer market, should a good player be available. He said that they were always looking for good players, and any player that could add good value, regardless of position, would be considered.
Chiefs have also been assessing a number of trialists during the FIFA World Cup break and Zwane confirmed a new approach by the club to thoroughly vet potential recruits.
