Impact of Chiefs’ ‘Muz Monster’ on Billiat & Company

Kaizer Chiefs have seen a marked improvement in their fitness levels since the arrival of strength and conditioning coach Muzi ‘Muz Monster’ Maluleke nearly a year ago.

Head coach Arthur Zwane has praised Maluleke for the work he has done since joining the club in June last year, citing an example of Khama Billiat covering the distance in 40 minutes that he used to cover in 90 minutes.

Maluleke, who holds a Master’s degree in Sports Science, was brought in by Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr. to address the club’s fitness issues.

Zwane spoke positively of the impact Maluleke has had, noting that the team’s chemistry is still a work in progress due to the different mindsets and backgrounds of the players.

Chiefs will face Royal AM in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals, but before then, they will take on Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership.
