After months of inactivity, Phakamani Mahlambi is set to make a return to professional football. The 25-year-old had been without a team since his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expired in June, and had failed to secure a move during the first half of the 2022/23 season.
Now, sources have confirmed that second-tier side All Stars are interested in offering Mahlambi the chance to revive his career. The Gauteng-based club are known for their ambition, and are looking to make the most of the immense talent the winger has shown throughout his career.
Mahlambi first rose to prominence during his time with Bidvest Wits, but his move to Sundowns in 2018 failed to live up to expectations. Loan spells with AmaZulu and Chippa United also failed to yield positive results, with the player struggling for regular game time.
It remains to be seen whether All Stars will be able to provide Mahlambi with the platform he needs to rediscover his best form, and the player will be hoping to prove his doubters wrong with a successful return to professional football.
