Kaizer Chiefs suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United, missing out on the opportunity to move closer to league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on the standings. Had they won by three goals or more, they could have moved up to second place.

Head coach Arthur Zwane acknowledged the missed opportunity and promised that they won’t miss such an opportunity again in the near future. “Football is a funny game. We saw the opportunity tonight (Saturday) and said, ‘Guys, most of the teams in the chasing pack if you check they lost’,” Zwane said in a press conference.
He also took comfort and confidence from their performance against Brandon Truter’s men, saying, “The performance, when you look at how the boys exerted themselves (against Sekhukhune), I’m a proud coach, I’m proud to work with them and we’re on the right track.”
Chiefs are currently 13 points behind league leaders Sundowns half-way through the season. Despite the setback, Zwane remains confident that they will make up the difference and climb up the ladder soon.
