On Thursday, Mamelodi Sundowns senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi spoke to the media ahead of their MTN8 final showdown against Orlando Pirates. Mngqithi praised the work of Sundowns head coach, Rhulani Mokwena, and revealed what sets him apart from his peers.
Mngqithi said that Mokwena is a “very talented, very detailed and works very hard” coach, with “fresh ideas” and a “very good work ethic”. He added that Mokwena’s strengths have helped to maintain the team’s framework, and that it is what will carry the club forward.
The MTN8 final will take place on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Mokwena will be hoping to couple his early season dominance with a trophy, while his counterpart Jose Riveiro will be hoping to defend the first title he won since making the move to South Africa.
