Record-Breaking Carnell Clinches Prestigious MLS Award

On Saturday, St Louis City head coach Bradley Carnell was named the MLS Coach of the Year for his incredible achievements during his maiden season in the league. Carnell’s record-breaking side were crowned Western conference champions and achieved a number of impressive feats.

The 46-year-old became the first expansion team to win their first five games, the fastest expansion side to reach 25 points, broke the expansion record for most wins in a season, became the first expansion team to win a conference championship – and they became just the second team to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup in their first year.

Reacting to his award, Carnell said, “There’s nothing more you could have wished for, for the growth of this club in its first eight months. I’m hopeful for now and many months to come and hopefully many years.”

The MLS Coach of the Year award is the latest in a string of accolades for Carnell, who has achieved a remarkable amount in his first season in the league. His success story is one that will be remembered for many years to come.
