Tefu: Chiefs Fans Growing Impatient with Waiting

Kaizer Chiefs have not won a trophy in eight years, and on Saturday their
wait for silverware was extended after they were knocked out of the
Carling Knockout by AmaZulu FC. The last time they won a trophy was in the
2014/15 season, and the captain then was Tefu Mashamaite. He recently
spoke to PSLSA, expressing his belief that this season Chiefs have the
squad to win a trophy.

“It has to be this season. They have a very good squad. A well-balanced
team,” said Mashamaite. “I was wishing it could have been the MTN8 and
Carling Knockout but it was not to be. I hope they amass enough courage to
realise that supporters are now tired of waiting for that trophy that they
have wanted so much.”

Mashamaite also stated that he wants to get the ‘monkey off his back’, as
he is often reminded that he was the last captain to lift a trophy at the
club. He believes that if the team works together, they can win something
this season.

“They have quality players and all the departments have the right
combinations and competition which is good for the team. Now it’s time for
them to produce the results and start winning at least two to three games
in a row and the supporters will be back,” concluded Mashamaite.

As frustration is growing among the supporters of Kaizer Chiefs, they will
be hoping that this season is the one that finally brings them a
much-needed trophy.
