Orlando Pirates’ new acquisition has raised hopes of a brighter future for the Soweto giants as they look to improve their DStv Premiership standing. The Buccaneers are currently eighth on the log, 21 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with one game in hand.
The club has enlisted the services of English coach Scott Chickelday who specialises in finishing, in an attempt to solve their goal-scoring woes. Bucs have managed to score only 10 goals in 15 games under Spanish coach Jose Riveiro, 22 goals less than Sundowns.
Chickelday has seemingly promised better things to come, as he posted a video of players in training on his official Twitter account with the caption, “Been a really productive week so far.”
Riveiro is optimistic about the new addition and hopes to see the results in upcoming games. The Buccaneers will be hoping to turn their fortunes around and make a push for the league title.
