Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bradley Ralani has found a new home
after signing with Cape Town Spurs on Thursday. Ralani, who was considered
one of the best free agents after his contract with the Brazilians was not
renewed in the off-season, had been without a club for a few months.
Ralani had spent the majority of his career in Europe, predominantly in
Sweden, before signing with Sundowns at the age of 34. Despite his
relatively short spell at the Tshwane giants, head coach Rulani Mokwena
rated Ralani highly, placing him in the top three of the best players he
has coached.
“I have to say two things about Ralani that probably a lot of people don’t
know. The first is, that I think Ralani is probably in the top three,
technically, if not very close to number two, but top three of technically
the best players I’ve coached,” Mokwena said on Metro FM Sports.
Ralani could be the solution that Spurs need to turn their fortunes
around, as he brings a quality that the Urban Warriors currently do not
have in their squad. With the joint-second least number of goals scored in
the Premiership, Spurs will be hoping Ralani can improve their
goal-scoring ratio, as they host Orlando Pirates next Wednesday.
