Isaacs: Johnson Alone Can’t Rescue Chiefs

On Friday, Kaizer Chiefs made the decision to part ways with head coach
Molefi Ntseki, prompting the appointment of former Chiefs defender, Cavin
Johnson, as interim head coach. Dominic Isaacs, one of Johnson’s former
students of the game, has spoken to PSLSA about his concerns on the new
appointment.

Isaacs, who worked with Johnson for six years at the School of Excellence,
noted that Johnson is a father figure to many and is well-equipped with
football education from Brazil and Holland. Despite Johnson’s impressive
track record, Isaacs warned that the pressure at Chiefs is unique and that
the team cannot rely on one person. He urged the players to up their game
by at least 30%, and to avoid schoolboy errors if they want to succeed.

Isaacs believes that Johnson will play an attacking game, and that
everyone will enjoy his football. He concluded by saying that the team
must believe in the process, even though it may be easier said than done.
