On Saturday, Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini quietly played a
key role in the Soweto giants’ 4-1 win over Swallows FC. Despite having
faced criticism from fans in the past, Dlamini has been consistently
called upon by Bucs coach Jose Riveiro, and his performances have been
improving.

The 26-year-old Daveyton-born star provided assists to two of Monnapule
Saleng’s goals, as the sharpshooter bagged a hat-trick and helped the team
to remain in the race for the DStv Premiership.
“I like the way our coach is getting the best out of all the players and
the combinations are getting better and better. Even the combination of
(Miguel) Timm and (Ndabayithethwa) Ndlondlo is working for the team in
that midfield and the coach should be commended,” said former Pirates
striker James Mothibi.
Pirates are aiming to finish in second place on the log at least, if
Mamelodi Sundowns end the campaign with another title defence, to qualify
for the CAF Champions League. Dlamini and Saleng will be key figures for
Bucs in the Nedbank Cup when they face Venda Football Academy in the Last
16 of the prestigious competition.
