On Friday night, Sekhukhune United booked their spot in the
quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup after defeating Cape Town Spurs 2-0 at
the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Sekhukhune recalled goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata while Kamohelo Mokotjo was
handed only his second start and Chibuike Ohizu returned to partner Victor
Letsoalo and Vusimuzi Mncube upfront.

The hosts dominated the game from the start and had several chances to
break the deadlock. Midway through the first half, Letsoalo opened the
scoring with a first-time shot from the edge of the box after a cut-back
by Mncube.
Just before the break, Roderick Kabwe doubled the lead with a low drive
from the penalty spot after Ohizu was brought down in the box by Morne
Nel.
Spurs showed determination to get back into the game in the second half,
creating chances in the last third, but were unable to find the finishing
touches.
Sekhukhune managed the game well, absorbing the pressure and giving new
signing Sibusiso Vilakazi his debut off the bench in the closing minutes.
In the end, Sekhukhune United cruised to a 2-0 victory and secured their
place in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
