Orlando Pirates have reportedly identified 19-year-old midfielder Kgwadi
Molepo as a potential star for the future, and have given him the
opportunity to train with the senior team.
Sources close to the club have revealed that the DStv Diski Challenge
captain has caught the eye of the Buccaneers’ technical team and could
soon be given a chance to showcase his skills.
“He is one of the few players who can play both in defence and midfield.
He is a leader and that’s why he is the captain at the DDC side. The
coaches have seen what he can do and that’s why they have given him the
chance to train with the senior team. They want to keep most of their
youngsters and that’s why they give them the chance to train with the
senior team so that they get used to the system and culture of the club,”
said one source.
The youngster is believed to be ready for higher level competition, and a
different source added that Molepo is destined for topflight football soon
if he can just keep his head down.
“He is grounded and disciplined and if he continues like this his future
is bright. This chance to train with the main team is the way forward for
him. I think what the management and technical team are doing is good in
helping the team and the players themselves. So Kgwadi (Molepo) is one of
those players that the team want to build the team for the future. Him
training with the senior team will help build him as a player as well,”
added the source.
