On Saturday, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will battle it out for
the MTN8 Cup final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The Buccaneers will be
looking to defend the trophy they won last season, despite their current
poor form.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Derrick Spencer believes Pirates will
come out victorious with a 2-0 win. In a one-on-one interview with PSLSA,
Spencer said it will be an exciting game, and that Pirates will be a
dangerous side on the day.
“The players’ mindset should be in the right mode as well because this is
a tricky game despite recent negative results for Pirates,” Spencer said.
Spencer, who is an MTN8 Legend, chose Orlando Pirates as his team while
Lucky Lekgwathi chose Sundowns. He added that if Pirates win, he will be
given R180 000 to donate to a charity organisation of his choice.
“But yeah apart from that I believe that Pirates would want to use this
game and change the bad results they have had in the past four games and
bounce back and that’s why I believe Pirates will lift the trophy on
Saturday,” Spencer concluded.
