Carling Knockout Prize Pot Unveiled – Millions at Stake!

The Carling Black Label Cup has been the talk of the town since its
successful launch on Tuesday. With millions of Rands up for grabs, it is
no wonder that the competition is creating so much buzz. Not only are
clubs and supporters set to benefit from the financial incentives, but the
tournament also comes with a number of innovations never before seen on
the African continent.

Carling have put their money where their mouths are, quite literally so,
and here are some of the ways they are doing so:

The Man of the Match will walk away with a cheque worth R100 000 at each
match. All 16 teams participating in the tournament will be eligible for
the prize money, with R800 000 being awarded for the opening eight
matches, R400 000 for the quarter finals, R200 000 for the semi-final, and
R100 000 for the final.

The Fak’ iGoal Uzobona innovation is aimed at energising the game to
produce earlier goals in matches. At the start of each match there will be
90 minutes and R90 000 on the clock, with R1 000 being deducted for each
minute that passes until the prize money reaches zero at the end of the
match.

The prize money for the competition has yet to be confirmed, but it is
expected to exceed the R4 250 000 awarded for the Telkom Knockout.
