Stellies Secure Signing Of Ex-Chiefs Midfielder

Cape Town City have revealed that they are open to the possibility of
signing former Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat, but have set a
condition before any green light is given.

City head coach Eric Tinkler has confirmed that the Zimbabwean
international won’t be signed without a trial or assessment.

Speaking to PSLSA, Tinkler said: “You should know that we haven’t signed
him yet. We will wait for him to come and we train with him and see what
he can do on the field. At the moment there is nothing much I can say
until we see him. No, I can’t say for how long we will assess him. I can’t
say three days or one week or how long. But before we sign him, if we are
going to sign him, we have to look at him go first. So, for now I can’t
say how he is going to help us until we see what he has got. Remember he
has stayed for some time without playing active football.”

Billiat had been out of action at Chiefs due to a long term injury and
then Amakhosi didn’t renew his contract when it expired at the end of June
this year.
