On Friday evening, Bafana Bafana will host Eswatini in an international
friendly at FNB Stadium.
The match marks the first in a series of preparations for the Africa Cup
of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in January, as well as the FIFA World Cup
qualifiers in November.
The last time the two sides met was in the COSAFA Cup in July, where
Bafana came from behind to win 2-1.
Bafana’s line-up includes Mothwa, Mobbie, Xulu, Sibisi, Modiba, Mokoena,
Blom, Zwane, Mayo, Mayambela, and Foster, with Goss, Hlongwane, Kekana,
Mthethwa, Williams, Mdantsane, Mako, Lepasa, Mvala, Mudau, Mothiba, and
Sithole on the subs bench.
Eswatini, who are fresh off their AFCON qualifiers last month, finished
bottom of their group with three points. This match will be their first
since the qualifiers ended.
Both teams will use this match to gauge their level of preparedness ahead
of their respective tournaments. Bafana’s next international friendly will
be against Ivory Coast on Tuesday in Abidjan.
