On Saturday afternoon, Richard Bay FC reclaimed second spot on the DStv Premiership table after edging ten-man Marumo Gallants in a tightly contested match.
The game, which took place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, saw both sides create chances in the first half, but neither side was able to break the deadlock. Gallants made a change before the break, with Joseph Malongoane coming on for Sibusiso Sibeko.
The hosts were then reduced to ten men in the 74th minute after Sibusiso Khumalo was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle. Richard Bay took advantage of the numbers game after opening the scoring six minutes later, with Sanele Barns getting his second goal of the campaign with a neat finish.
The visitors then sealed the victory in the 86th minute, with Tshepo Mabua finding the back of the net to wrap up the win. The result sees Richard Bay move up to second spot on the DStv Premiership table, while Marumo Gallants remain in the relegation zone.
