Kaizer Chiefs’ attacker Khama Billiat has seen his market value slashed
in half after another tumultuous campaign for Amakhosi, as he has been
ruled out through injury for the rest of the season. According to the
latest figures on Transfermarkt, Billiat has seen his value go from €800
000 (±R15.3m) to €400 000 (±R7.6m).
In 2019, Billiat was ranked as the league’s most valuable player with a
market value of €2m (±R38.5m). However, with just 11 appearances in all
competitions this season and no goal to his name, the 32-year-old’s
decline is understandable.
Billiat’s contract with Chiefs is set to expire in June 2023, and his
appearance in the Soweto Derby in their 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in
December last year could have been his last in an Amakhosi jersey. With
only four months to go on his deal, it remains to be seen what the future
holds for Billiat.
