Arrows Coach Reveals Aggressive Game Plan Against Chiefs

On Saturday, Golden Arrows co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi was delighted after
his side secured a 3-2 win over Kaizer Chiefs. The KwaZulu-Natal side
fought back on two occasions, with Knox Mutizwa playing a starring role
with a brace.

Vilakazi said that they always planned to go at Chiefs, but did call for
an improvement on the defensive end. “Our plan was that we want to go to
them, we have nothing to lose but to get something out of this game,”
Vilakazi told SuperSport after the game.

He added that they need to improve in terms of their defensive structure.
“If you look at the first goal, it was a throw-in. The players are not
even facing- they took a quick one. So those critical moments we suffer a
lot from them. But I think going to the second half we planned that we
didn’t want to stay back but take the game to Kaizer Chiefs,” Vilakazi
said.

He also said that they needed to lock down Dolly and the other player on
the other side. “We allowed our fullbacks to go inside with them and our
wingers had to stay and deal with their fullbacks and I think we did much
better in the second half in terms of making sure we keep the ball and be
creative. Still, not one of the best in terms of being clinical in front
of goal but we’ll work on that. Other things cannot be rectified
overnight, we need more repetition and we’ll work on that,” Vilakazi
concluded.
